Security, exercise course, Fall 2011

Information about the lectures can be found on a different page.

The exercises are compulsory; their average makes up half of your final mark. Exercises must be done in (stable) pairs. Exercises not handed in before the deadline will be graded 1.

Note: For your exam preparation an old exam is available. You can use it solely to practice, or you can hand in your solutions for grading in which case this grade can replace your lowest assignment grade. For example, if you did not hand in an assignment and you get a 7 for the old exam this 7 will be counted instead of the 1 (of the assignment).

Handing in your answers

The schedule is as follows.

• On Monday, day x, a new exercise will be available on this webpage.
• On Thursday, day x+4, you can discuss issues during the exercise course.
• On Monday, day x+7, you have to hand in the exercise before 8:30, sharp. (That is, before the lecture.)
• On Thursday, day x+11, marked exercises will be returned, and feedback will be given.

There are two options for handing in your answers. Submission via Blackboard is not accepted.

1. Post box: Put your solutions in Pim Vullers' post box (in the white cabinet near the printer at the station-side-end of the corridor on the second floor of the Huygens building). Before putting your solutions in the post box make sure:
   • your name and student number are written on the document
2. E-mail: Send your solutions by e-mail to Pim Vullers with subject `assignment i' where i stands for the i-th exercise. This e-mail should only contain a single PDF document as attachment (unless explicitly stated otherwise). Before sending an e-mail make sure:
   • the file is a PDF document
   • your name is part of the filename (for example PimVullers_assignment-i.pdf)
   • your name and student number are included in the document (since they will be printed)
   • the subject is `assignment i' and you substituted i to the correct assignment number
